Point Building Group Building Group Request a bid

Sheet G-002  ·  General Information

A small firm,
on purpose.

Point Building Group was formed by two partners who spent their careers inside larger Greater Boston contractors and wanted to run work the way they thought it should be run.

01  /  The firm

Why we started

Most construction problems are not construction problems. They are estimating problems, scope problems, and permit problems that surface eight months later as a change order and a schedule slip. By the time they reach the field, the expensive decisions have already been made.

We built Point Building Group around the front end of the job. Budgets that hold. Scope sheets written line by line. Code and permitting mapped into the schedule before a drawing is stamped. It is less visible work than framing a building, and it determines almost everything about how the project goes.

We are deliberately small. Both partners are on every job, and the person who prices your work is the person who answers the phone when something changes. That does not scale forever, and we are not trying to make it scale forever.

Who you'll
be working with

Two principals, both accountable, both reachable. More than twenty years of Greater Boston commercial construction between them.

Principal  ·  Preconstruction & Business Development

Superintendent → Estimator → Business Development → Vice President

Fifteen years in Greater Boston commercial construction, starting in the field as a superintendent and moving through estimating, business development, and executive leadership. That range is the point. He has run the schedule, priced the work, and carried the number — so a budget he hands you reflects how the job actually gets built, not how it looks on paper.

Leads preconstruction, bid strategy, subcontractor buyout, and client relationships. Works extensively in building code compliance and permitting strategy across Massachusetts jurisdictions.

Principal  ·  Operations

Carpenter → Project Manager → Project Executive → Vice President

Came up through the trades as a carpenter before moving into project management, and has since held project executive and vice president roles. He knows what a detail looks like when it is built correctly because he has built it, and subcontractors notice the difference on a walkthrough.

Runs project execution, scheduling, safety, and subcontractor performance. Accountable for the schedule from mobilization through punch and closeout, and for the quality of what gets installed.
